What Do 10k, 14k, 18k, 22k and 24k Mean for Gold Jewelry?

These numbers refer to the purity of the metal. “K” stands for karat, which is another way to show the percentage of gold in the alloy. An alloy is a mixture of metals. Gold is a naturally soft metal, so it must be mixed with other metals to make it stronger and more resistant to damage during use.

What is the best way to maintain and care for my treasure piece?
Coins will tarnish over time, especially when exposed to the oils of your skin. To keep your coin jewelry looking great, here are a few “do’s and don'ts” for your treasure coins and gold jewelry.

Avoid wearing your treasure coin jewelry in water, but especially in salt water, chlorinated pools and hot tubs, which will accelerate the tarnishing process.
To take off the tarnish buildup, use mild soap with distilled water and gently rub with your fingers for about 30 seconds on your treasure piece, then rinse thoroughly and gently dry with a soft cloth.

Coins and gold jewelry should Never be cleaned with any solution containing ammonia, alcohol or other harsh ingredients. Do not use silver polish to clean your coin. Never clean your treasure jewelry in an ultrasonic cleaner.
